Entrusted with an evergreen

Patient care

And never mean

Planted in the fertile soil

The Word of God

Not earth's turmoil!

I was molded by your love

I'm standing straight and tall

For when you saw me bending

You helped me not to fall!

Tender are those first dear years

Where you gave joy

In place of fears!

Now Daddy, if you ever fail

Your love shines brighter

Failures pale!

Here's a small reminder

A tender evergreen

And as it grows up straight and tall

Always a reminder

My Dad, is best of all!
