Today's Message at
The Olustee Community Church ...
Don’t cut across my yard,
Don’t bother me at all!
I’m looking out for just myself,
Don’t bother me at all!
My children, let them cut across,
And when they do,
Call out -
Call out and welcome them to come,
Yes, welcome, call out, come!
Come in and find refreshment,
Come in and find a friend,
Come in from all your hurriedness,
Slow down, and meet a friend!
Why would another cross your path?
Why does it bother you?
You were once that hurried one,
I welcomed you to come!
I called, “Slow down and come on in,
I want to be your friend!”
You were not a bother
Because I love you so!
Child, take the time to offer love,
Help another know,
I love them, love them so!!!

Love never fails ...
In the delivering of this message ... the yard represents a persons life. Don't cut across my life ... don't bother me ... I have worked hard and its all neat and I don't want anyone messing it up! So then we don't help others ... in a way we call out " Don't cut across my yard!" Don't bother me!" Jesus taught us to lay down our lives to help others ... welcome and care for them. It was a really good reminder to help those that are in such a hurry to slow down and come on in to Jesus!!! And those that cut across our lives because they need attention ... they are hurting, lost or scared! Sweet sleep to you all... I love you so very, very much! xo

I'm so glad I came back and read this! I need to be reminded of this daily! I used to be SO friendly & out going, smiling & saying hi to anyone who crossed my path. But life & hard truth about how disappointing people can be has turned me into quite the opposite:( this poem makes me want to be the free, loving, trusting girl I used to be. I love you Mommy
ReplyDeleteMe too my Sunshine! Me too! We have to be on guard to not become so hard!!!
